PERSONALITY

Peter comes from a small, beautiful town nestled in the mouth of Clew bay along the West coast of Ireland. His journey through Physiotherapy schooling brought him to study in London, and work in Nottingham University hospital, in the UK for 7 years. In 2015 he followed a long-held plan to adventure to the wild natural beauty of British Columbia. Since that time, he has been affectionately calling Vancouver Island home.

Peter is a friendly and caring clinician. He believes in the practice of complete and compassionate listening. He is curious to understand and explore the big picture of why you may have sought out Physiotherapy services. With over 8 years of experience, he values a holistic and integrated approach to resolving issues arising within the body.

Peter will ensure that you can leave the appointment with a helpful and clear understanding of the problem and the plan for care. Peter places value on his potential to utilise manual therapy to create relief and soothe symptoms and help repair the bodies relationship to movement patterns or activities that have become dysregulated, disconnected or even damaged.

When and where appropriate, you will leave your session armed with the information you need to positively influence your body’s ability to heal itself. He will also help you understand the risk of certain behaviours that may slow down your recovery. Peter will utilise his skills as a movement specialist, to help you gradually approach challenging activities to get you back to doing the things that are meaningful to you.

Peter works from an understanding that everyone’s body, life experiences and nature of problem will be different. A growing body of research tells us that the ‘best treatment’ results come from a balanced coordination of; the available evidence on the problem, the clinician’s experience, and the patients lifelong experience with the unique character of their body.

When Peter is not in the clinic, he can be found trail running, on a kayaking adventure with his partner, in the garden, going for a swim in the ocean, playing a baritone ukulele or guitar with his friends, or just chilling and enjoying a movie.
