Physiotherapy is a holistic approach to healthcare, which aims to maximize mobility and function, as well as, promote independence with overall health and wellness. Manual therapy techniques are hands on ways an experienced Physiotherapist can move your bones and joints to help improve function and decrease pain. If you are suffering from a herniated disc, sciatica or shoulder pain, Lab Health's Team of professionals can work with you to find the right treatment to get the best results.
At Lab Health Physiotherapy in Victoria West, we stay on top of the current research to select the most evidence based techniques for things like herniated disc, sciatica, knee and hip osteoarthritis, etc. to help you reach your goals. We are less focused on applying machines to decrease your pain and create temporary relief. Our Physiotherapists only see one patient at a time so you will not have to compete for our time and attention, our focus on you for the duration of your appointment.
Soft Tissue Techniques
Massage techniques are another form of manual therapy intended to treat muscles, ligaments and tendons. These techniques are useful in decreasing tight muscle sensations and pain caused from the surrounding structures. Muscle tension increasing with pain is so common, we call it muscle guarding. We commonly see this with many condition like, disc herniations, sciatica, rotator cuff tears, etc. The aim is to optimize soft tissue length in order to harness the full strength and power of the treated area and reduce painful guarding. If you are looking more for massage techniques for the entire treatment then book in with one of our exceptional Registered Massage Therapists.
