Tissue Release

Massage therapy can be preformed with gentle, light, medium and deeper pressures to treat a multitude of conditions and pain. Deep tissue massage is often referred to as Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure can be beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension, commonly seen in neck pain. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). However, sometimes your tissue may need lighter touch to release other structures and to calm the system more effectively.

If you suffer from neck tension and neck pain treatment can be very effective for reducing the discomfort and helping you return to feeling strong and pain free.

Neck Pain

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release (MFR) therapy focuses on releasing muscular shortness and tightness. Many patients seek myofascial treatment after losing flexibility or function following an injury or if experiencing ongoing back pain, shoulder pain, hip stiffness, or pain in any area containing soft tissue.
MFR may be helpful if you are experiencing:

  • Tightness of the tissues that restricts motion or changes the pull on the body can cause individuals to favour and overuse areas

    • Neck pain treatment for a stiff neck

    • Spinal stenosis muscle tension

  • A sense of excessive pressure on muscles or joints that produces pain, including headaches, shoulder pain or back pain

Pre & Post-Natal Massage

Massage is particularly useful to mothers because as their pregnancy evolves, postural changes and added weight can cause discomfort and back pain - which in turn can lead to a lack of rest and chronic fatigue. And after baby’s arrival, massage can help expedite recovery and provide relief from the challenges of early motherhood.

If you are not sure why you are having a pain, then book a Physiotherapy Assessment. Bring your baby during their nap time so you have the time to focus on you!
